Update from Principal
Dear Families
It is hard to believe we are entering our last two weeks of the school year. We have a lot to look forward to and a lot to look back on and celebrate. Since joining the school in Term Two I have continued to be amazed at the standard of behaviour of our students and the dedication of our staff. I also want to say thank you to the community for making me feel so welcome during this time. We have a lot to look forward to over the next two weeks and I am excited to start planning for 2025 and being here from the beginning of year.
Staffing Update
As you may be aware, I have previously announced several staff who are leaving us at the end of year. I also want to acknowledge some other staff who will be leaving us and thank them for their contributions to our school.
- Miss Olivia Cockcroft (Teacher) who will be leaving us to take up a position at Inglewood PS.
- Miss Sarah Truscott (Teacher) who we hope will come back and do some relief in the school.
- Mrs Linda Salm (EA) who is retiring.
- Mrs Megan Saggers (Teacher) who is retiring.
- Mrs Viv Rocca (EA) who is retiring.
- Mrs Ingrid Shaw (EA) who we hope to see doing relief next year.
- Mrs Pip Murdoch (Teacher) who we hope to see doing relief next year.
- Ms Elouise Walker (School Psychologist) who is moving into private practice.
Class Placements 2025
We have started organising draft class lists for 2025. Final class placements will be announced to families in Week 10. All requests for placements closed on Friday 8 November, therefore we can no longer consider parent requests for 2025.

Newbro Dads
Camp Out Wrap
School community spirit, at its best, was on display at the Newbros Camp Out. A great arvo of activities and fun coordinated by the Newbro Dads team. Thanks to everyone who came along, joined in and helped out. It is a great sight to sit back and see all the kids from every age group racing about being active, playing games and helping out the dads. Dodge ball and tug of war competitions attracted the biggest crowds. Manning reigned supreme in the tug of war, as you would expect, however we were pleasantly surprised be challenged… just a little bit… GO Manning!!!
The wind dropped as the movie started so we had ideal conditions to relax and watch the Big Screen after roasting our marshmallows at the fire pits.
Being a team there is no need to highlight individuals. Everyone helps out in their own way, looking after a task, a job, their kids, someone else’s kids, collecting stuff, cleaning up… it is appreciated, thank you!!
What did you say? You missed out on the camp out?... How do you get involved? No, not involved just how can you help?? If this is you, well I have a great deal for you. You can help out the Newbro dads, contribute to the fantastic Newbro events next year and all from the comfort of your own home… yep seriously… All you need to do is buy a case of wine… or 3!!
Newbro Dads Wine Fundraiser
This is your last week to follow the link and order your Christmas wine, your wine presents, your winter stash, your guilty pleasure or if remaining wine abstinent then order some for your friends and family. Sooo much better than a gift voucher!!
Order now and collect on December 10th from the Sustainability Shed, Wilding Street at school. The shed will be open for collection in the morning 8:30-9:00 and afternoon from 2:30- 3:30.
Beach Swim Mornings
The Newbro Dads head down to Trigg Beach each Friday morning from 6am. We have a quick swim, then sit out the front of Canteen with a coffee and chat. Everyone is welcome so bring the kids down, get yourself on the Newbro Dads WhatsAp group and keep up to date.

Club of the Year
Newborough Netball Club has won PNA Club of the Year in the small Primary School category. The prize was $250. This money has been put towards new equipment for the 2025 season.
This prize is awarded based on club representation at PNA meetings, responding to PNA emails, participation in coach and umpiring workshops and overall parent/player/official behaviour. So, thanks to all our club members for their contribution this year.
Please Return Uniforms
For those teams who played Spring netball, please wash and return uniforms to your coach as soon as possible.
Expressions of Interest for 2025
For those wishing to play netball in winter 2025, I’ll be seeking expressions of interest early Feb. Players in Years 2 - 6 have one training session and one game a week during the season which runs May until end of August. Pre-Primary and Year 1’s participate in a skills based training program that runs in Term 2. If you would like any further information ahead of 2025 pop me an email, otherwise check the school Newsletter and the WhatsApp chats for details when school returns in 2025.
I hope all involved with our club enjoyed the season. Special thanks to our volunteer coaches and managers. To our departing players and coaches, best of luck for next year and to everyone else, I hope to see you back in 2025.
